Azzahra Najmanisa

Azzahra Najmanisa is a Lampung-based fashion designer with over a decade of experience, operating under her label Nisa Hamzah, a name drawn from her own and her father's. She started showcasing her work in 2015 and formally launched the brand in 2023, with a focus on ready-to-wear rooted in Indonesian Wastra, particularly hand embroidery traditions she believes must be kept alive in the face of industrialisation. A graduate of Susan Budihardjo Fashion Forward Institute (2023), her collections draw from Indonesian folklore and regional craft, as seen in her collection MEGA, which translates the Sangkuriang legend into structural silhouettes with Mega Mendung motifs and weaving techniques referencing West Javanese architecture. Before founding her own label, she worked under designers Itang Yunasz and Ichwan Thoha, and has collaborated with institutions including Bank Indonesia, Astra International, and Kementerian Perindustrian. Her showing track record spans Hong Kong Fashion Week, Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival, Bali Fashion Parade, and Jogja Fashion Week, among many others. She is also a member of APPMI and Komunitas Mode Indonesia.
